Newbury's Recreation Committee runs the town's youth sports for children through grade 6 — soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and Little League baseball/softball in the spring — plus community events. Older kids play school sports through Blue Mountain Union in Wells River. No independent youth football, hockey, or lacrosse program serving the town was found.
