Liberty is a small rural Waldo County town (pop. ~934) with no town recreation department or town-based youth sports league. The town runs a volunteer-led Summer Swim Program for kids at Stevens Pond; other organized youth sports were not found under Liberty's own town government. Liberty is part of RSU 3 (Walker School), which serves Freedom, Knox, Montville, Palermo, Searsmont, Thorndike and Waldo alongside Liberty.
