Peru is a small Oxford County town of roughly 1,500 residents with no recreation department of its own. Its kids attend school in RSU 56 (Dirigo), based in neighboring Dixfield, and use Dixfield's town-maintained ball fields; the wider region's youth ski development runs through the Chisholm Ski Club at Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford. No dedicated youth basketball, football, lacrosse, hockey, or organized soccer league serving the town was found as of this research.
