Canaan is a small rural town (pop. ~2,600) with no municipal recreation department of its own. Local kids play organized sports through the Skowhegan Parks & Recreation Department a few miles away, which charges a non-resident surcharge on top of its Skowhegan resident rate. No dedicated youth baseball/softball, lacrosse, ice hockey, swimming, wrestling, or ski program serving Canaan was found in this research pass.
