Orient is a town of about 156 people on the Saint Croix River in far southern Aroostook County. It has no town recreation department and no youth sports club of its own; kids here go through Houlton Parks & Recreation (about 20 miles northwest, which charges non-residents a fee rather than excluding them) or the East Grand School district based in Danforth to the south, which fields interscholastic soccer.
