Southwest Harbor's kids play mostly through Mount Desert Island-wide organizations: Acadian Youth Sports (baseball, softball, football, cheer, basketball, golf, based in Bar Harbor/Ellsworth with a Southwest Harbor board delegate), the Southwest Harbor community center Harbor House (K-5 school-year sports), and the MDI YMCA (soccer, basketball, swim team). No dedicated Southwest Harbor rec-department sports program, and no local hockey, lacrosse, field hockey, wrestling, track club, or ski program was found.
